Nicolas Potel Wine
We have worked with Nicholas Potel since the start of his solo venture. We were instantly smitten with his first releases back in 1997 but have been amazed to see how swiftly he has risen to the heights of the Burgundy hierarchy. Nicholas is not only an incredibly talented wine maker but he has an astonishing understanding for each and every terroir he works with. This is no mean feat. Ordinarily a vigneron will work with the vineyards of his domaine, which might amount to a dozen vineyards. Nicholas is generally working with over 80 different parcels throughout Burgundy and now Chablis and Beaujolais too! Unless absolutely essential, Nicholas bottles the wines without filtration. All his wines possess a wonderful purity of fruit and impeccable balance with a shrewd use of oak.
