Masies d'Avinyo Wine
Masies d’Avinyo, the bodega where the the Abadal wines are produced, was founded in 1983 with a view to recuperating the winemaking tradition of El Bages and taking it forward into the 21st century.
The vineyards of the bodega is surrounded by old woodland which along with its undulating terrain provides a unique microclimate which plays its part in the production of expressive, eloquent reds, and whites that are generous and powerful.
They believe that a fine wine is one that preserves the wealth of information accumulated in the grape. Native grape varieties such as the fruity Picapoll co-exist with other varieties perfectly adapted to the region, such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Tempranillo, Syrah, Merlot, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc. The wines are made in a state-of-the-art bodega, with fermentation in steel tanks, which respect the nature of the grape, and matured in French, American and Central European oak casks.
