Chateau Vannieres Wine

Situated in the ‘heart’ of the Bandol appellation a short car journey from the holiday resort of St. Cyr-sur-Mer. The estate can trace its origins back to the 16th century but since 1957 has been owned and run by the Boisseaux family. This estate, has always had the potential to be great. After a succession of visits, it has become obvious that a new, fresher approach has been adopted by the property’s young and enthusiastic wine maker, Emmanuel Salar. After hours of tasting from barrique to foudre and back again, blending and sorting and generally getting down to the nitty-gritty I was left in no doubt that Emmanuel had elevated the quality of its wines and that my perseverance had been worth it. It is interesting to note that young Emmanuel trained under Jean Meyer in Alsace.
