Bourbon
A thick, butch and oily nose. Exceedingly weighty with some mature bourbon oak aromas. Very gently smoked and with a fine thread of peat. With time some lovely Glenrothes-esque mature honey appears as does a slight perfumed white flower top note.
The palate is as weighty as the nose suggests. Oily, full and sweetly malted. The oak grips early on and the peat is a distant sheen on the oils. Some sawdusty honey emerges and the phenolics are ramped up on the finish before exiting in a marvellously dusty manor. The oak continues to grip and gives it a very dry, duty, old wood finish.
